The wait is over as the much awaited track by Yemi Alade “Overtake” ft Jeriq, is finally out.
Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, brought herself to the spotlight about thirteen years ago with her breakthrough single, Johnny”. This was indeed a huge joint as it was an upbeat banger that got everyone in a dance mood. It buzzed everywhere: On the streets, clubs, bar and on our airwaves. She followed up with more hits that convinced every good music lover she was not here for jokes.
Later, she came up with her debut album, “King of Queens”. This music compilation, yet, was another huge success because it hosts amazing and unforgettable tracks off. While these records were still banging in our heads, Yemi Alade gave us another one, “Mama Africa”. It is no news songs off the playlist got her a nomination in the “Best African Album” Category” at the Grammy Awards. Do not let us forget our “African Giant” also made it to that category. That means she went head to head with our Afrobeats god, Burna boy. Is that not a great feat?
And at a time we thought she wanted to chill a bit, she dishes out fresh album, “Its Yemi Alade” whose tracks are already everywhere.
Yemi Alade “Overtake” is one of the dope tracks off her just released project, “Its Yemi Alade”. She teams up with Nigerian indigenous rapper, Jeriq for the brand new hit. She stuns all the time with her unusual diversification. Yes, she started with Dance but later she showed her other numerous sides with genres like Soul, R&B, Highlife and many more.
Yemi Alade “Overtake” is a Gyration fused jam that doubles as a prayer and an inspirational song and it is spreading like wild fire in harmattan.
