Finally, the much awaited single by Patoranking “Shake That” ft Ruger, is out.
Nigerian Dancehall singer, Patoranking, whose real name is Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, rose to stardom about twelve years ago with the release of his breakthrough single, “Girlie O”. While this received massive acceptance, he invited Afrobeats Queen, Tiwa Savage on the joint for a remix that was on top on African music charts for weeks- it was such a huge success.
Few years later, the Nigerian Dancehall star came through with his debut album, “God Over Everything” (a then critically acclaimed music compilation that houses big tracks as “This Kind Luv” ft Wizkid, “Hale Hale”, “Cheating Zone, and “Stammerer”. This multi-track project exposes us to the truth that Patrick Okorie has many singing abilities as G.O.E is a body of love songs, Dancehall bangers and other sweet melodies from other genres.
Though an all round singer, Pato’s bias for Dancehall music is evident and that’s his domain where he shines the most.
It has been a while he gave us a hit jam but he returns bigger with this brand new collaboration with Ruger, “Shake That”. When two great Dancehall likeminds and rich lyricists like them come together, we know what to expect.
Patoranking “Shake That” ft Ruger reminds one of evergreen music of the likes of legends as Jamaica ‘s Sean Paul and Kelvin Little.
