Finally, the much-awaited single by Rudeboy “Beauty Modara”, is out.
Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye, who is professionally known as Rudeboy and who was once one half of defunct Afro R&B/ Pop duo, PSquare, has been a big name in Nigeria ‘s music entertainment industry for about two decades now. They (PSquare) launched themselves on the forefront of the scene with their great love and dance jams, then. In 2003, they came through with debut album, “Last Nite”. That playlist banged continually on our airwaves and dance floors because of the rich melodies as “Senorita” and “Igbedu” it houses.
They followed up that compilation with singles as “Do Me” that became one of the loudest songs in Nigeria.. While this was everywhere, they put out another banger, “Busy Body”. During this period they competed head to head in the music space with the biggest names as D’Banj and Don Jazzy. They reigned for many years after that time but at some point, they fell out and went their separate ways.
Rudeboy, immediately after their separation, started his solo music journey. Though a lover of Dancehall, he has never hidden his bias for love songs- he went ahead with the penchant for those and gave us sweet love jams, back to back. It has, however, been a while he delighted was us with one as his last single “Billios” wasn’t one.
Rudeboy “Beauty Modara” is a reminder the talented veteran singer is still a king in that domain and the gospel truth is the brand new joint is one soothing mid-tempo Afro R&B melody.
