[NEW MUSIC]: Adekunle Gold – “My Love Is The Same”

Finally, the long awaited track by Adekunle Gold “My Love Is The same”, is now out.

Nigerian singer, Adekunle Kosoko, better known as Adekunle Gold and whom his fans fondly call “AG Baby”, became popular in 2014 with his debut single, “Sade” which came out from Olamide’s YBNL Nation that had just signed him. Though he is all-round singer, he has always had passion for love songs. That is obviously why he professionally launched his career with the release of that introductory single. Before the heat of the first could cool down, Kosoko followed up with “Orente” that further confirms his penchant for that genre. To scan through his discography from the inception of his music journey to date, is to detect most of his sounds are R&B-themed. And it is only fair to state he doesn’t just do them but does them excellently.

I remember one of the tracks off his debut album, “About 30”, “No Forget” – a deep,. dialogue themed song that narrates the insecurity of a wife whose husband is about to leave Nigeria in search of a better life for them. His sophomore studio album “Gold” also houses many hit love tracks as “Damn Delilah and Paradise”. While many of his songs are still playing in our heads, Adekunle Gold, few weeks ago, came through with his highly anticipated album which he titles “Fuji”. The critically acclaimed project houses some great love melodies as “Believe”, “Only God Can Save Me” featuring Davido and “My Love Is The Same”. Asides his great liking for love-themed songs, he likes the Alternative sound. That is why he expresses himself- that is , he does his Afro R&B songs through Alternative music.

Adekunke Gold “My Love Is The Same” is an Alternative music-fused tune that tells the moving tale of a father who leaves his comfort zone, family and beloved daughter for a totally strange land to ensure they live a good life. It further stresses the bitter experiences many men face outside in search of greener pastures to put food on the table and to make their families comfortable.
