[NEW MUSIC]: BOJ – “Shana” Ft Show Dem Camp & Joey B

Finally, the much awaited single by BOJ “Shana” ft Show Dem Camp and Joey B, is now out.

Nigerian artiste, Bolaji Odojukan, who is better known as BOJ started his music career at an early age. Around 2007 he professionally launched his journey with a team-up with two other young and new artistes, TeeZee and Fresh L to form a music group named DRB LasGidi. After some years with the other duo, he started doing music alone. That was when he came forth with “Bolaji Omo Dapo”- what I would call his breakthrough jam.

This was an uncommon music style but was widely accepted and earned him huge respect among good music lovers across Nigeria. The genre he called “Alte” which I would describe as a sub-genre of rap music. I call it Alternative rap because it’s way slower than the traditional one. At that time there were very few artistes doing this kind of genre. One other artiste I remember who did that also and was successful is Black Magic and seems to have quit. Despite the aloneness and paucity, BOJ fought hard at a time artistes as Olamide, Wizkid and Davido bestrode the music space like Colossus and his voice was heard. In a bid to keep his head up amongst “predators”, he worked together with another gifted artiste, like-mind and Alternative rap artist Ajebutter22 for joint Extended Play (EP), “Make E No Cause Fight”. That became a big success and kept him afloat because it absolutely houses classics.

BOJ who has made four music compilations and who had been on a hiatus for some time now warms up with the release of brand new tune, “Shana” in preparation for the drop of his fifth music compilation, “Duplicity” due for release on December 5th, 2025. The “Alte” genre pioneer teams up with veteran Nigerian rap duo, Show Dem Camp and Ghanaian Hip-hop star, Joey B for “Shana”.

BOJ “Shana” is one lyrically rich, h@rd, loud party bang- it is so much fun.
