The wait is over as the much awaited single by Fave and Yemi Alade “Worry”, is out.
Nigerian singer Yemi Alade became popular about twelve years ago with the release of her “Johnny” record. This song was so massive there was hardly anywhere you went that you wouldn’t hear it buzzing. It buzzed endlessly on our airwaves and of course, the upbeat banger rocked our dance floors.
A year later, she came through with her debut music compilation, “King of Queens”. This is a classic that houses many great tracks including “Taking Over Me” ft. Phyno and “Duro”. Since then, Yemi Alade has not rested for one day. She continually grinds and pours out hits from time to time. She works so hard and dishes out at least one music compilation every year. The super female vocalist who now has about ten Extended Plays and albums, gears towards the release of another.
While her ever-green songs were still playing in our heads, Yemi Alade delighted us with her new trending single, “Mbali” and followed up with the official music video for the dance banger. She teamed up with Nigerian cinematographer of the moment, Pink and a choreographed, colourful and dope “Mbali” video was made. While this was still banging everywhere, she releases a newer one.
Yemi Alade who is an all-round singer teams up with another very gifted Nigerian female singer, Fave, for this brand new hit,”Worry”. The former has the party trick of stretching her vocal range and the latter is said to have the “voice of 3 angels”. The way she switched and stretched her vocals especially on “Duro” and “Nakupenda” still leave me amazed. She unleashes the skill once again. Don’t let us forget Fave’s name appears twice on Afro Hip-Hop/ rap giant, Olamide’s “UY Scuti” album tracklist. To make it to the list of guest features of such big and successful project, you must be indeed, skillful.
Fave and Yemi Alade “Worry” is one big, sweet and soulful melody.
Lyrical excerpt:
Oh baby dont you worry oh
Ah baby dont you worry oh oh oh
This time
This time
I’m waiting on you tonight
You say you are going
Baby come back
Don’t leave me standing ah
In the rain
Keep your promises the only way I can lay low
You say you are going
Baby come back
I can feel the fire inna me face
Tell me you coming back
I would be okay
You know say you dey rock my world
Na only you fit press my mumu button
Baby make you call my phone
You know I’ll be here for you
Tell me when your coming home
