[NEW MUSIC]: Asake – “Badman Gangsta” Ft. Tiakola (Prod. by P. Prime)

Finally, the much-awaited single by Asake “Badman Gangsta”, is out.

Asake who often calls himself “Ololade Mr Money” has been doing entertainment since his days as an undergraduate Theatre Arts student at Obafemi Awolowo University. After graduation, he attempted acting, featured in stage plays and did music unprofessionally but sadly “nothing much” came out of the fierce grinding. Luck however smiled on Asake in 2021. How? He signed a deal with Nigeria’s top and Olamide owned music label YBNL Nation and things changed for good. Shortly after the signing of the deal he gave us “Sungba” which in weeks became a monster hit. At a time we were still vibing to this, Asake put blazing Burna Boy on it for a remix that buzzed from our speakers from then till now.

Since then he has been on a roll- year in year out. Do you remember “Bandana” that same year and how sweet and resounding it was and how dominating that was on Nigeria ‘s music charts? And this is just one of the many big sounds Asake constantly delights us with.

While “Sungba” and “Bandana” were busy buzzing on our streets, radio stations, at our bars, lounges and clubs and at our parties, the uncommonly gifted artist came through with his debut album, “Mr Money with the Vibe” which houses big tunes as “Terminator”, “Dupe”, “Joha” and “Sungba remix”.

Just in case you never knew, 2024 was a game changer for Asake as he was nominated alongside Olamide in the prestigous and global award organizer, Grammy Awards’ “Best African Music Performance” category for their massive collaboration, “Amapiano”. Despite this great feat, the unrelenting musician keeps feeding our soul with his danceable, deep, soothing, banging and lyrically rich melodies.

While many of his songs still linger in our heads, he dishes out this brand new one, “Badman Gangsta”. It is a norm for the multi-talented act to experiment with different music styles. Yes “Badman Gangsta” is another beautiful experiment. This time around Asake teams up with French-born Congolese singer/ rapper, Tiakola for fresh, cool and dope House-infused banger, “Badman Gangsta”.
