Nigerian singer Maleek Berry dishes out fresh track, “Situation” ft Wizkid.
Just in case you never knew, Nigerian singer, Maleek Berry whose real name is Okunola Abdul Maleek Anuoluwapo Shoyebi has been around for some time now. Yes he has been around in the Nigerian music industry for about two decades. He started as a music producer who at some point in his journey was sought after by big Nigerian artistes. In the prime of his production career, the magically fingered artist made beats to hits for the likes of Wande Coal, Wizkid and Yemi Alade to mention a few. I am sure you remember Wande Coal’s then monster hit, “Baby Hello”. Maleek Berry is the the brain behind its making.
At some point in his career in 2017, the multi-talented creative showed us his other side- singing ability. He came through with some amazing love singles as “Let Me Know” and “Lost in the World” which are housed on his debut EP, “Last Days of Summer”. This feat blew every good music lover away. To prove he was not around to joke, he followed up the EP with his sophomore album, “First Daze of Winter”. Though not as critically acclaimed as the former it is rated a good album. After the heat of the two EPs cooled down, Maleek Berry consulted legendary music producer Don Jazzy. Their meeting led to the birth of “Bend It” which turned out to be a banger. This was everywhere for a while. But after the frenzy faded out in 2019, Okunola went into oblivion or should I say he went on a hiatus?
The music producer cum singer returns from his sojourn with brand new R&B body of work, “If Only Love Was Enough”. He teams up with global Afrobeats superstar Wizkid, for brand new jam, “Situation” ft Wizkid which happens to be one of the hit tracks off fresh project, “If Only Love Was Enough”. It is there for everyone to see the discographies of these two great artistes are heavily filled with cool love songs.The last times they collaborated, all hell broke loose remember? It is therefore good news to have these two great love song enthusiasts on one joint once again.
Situation is one great, addictive love melody.
