Finally, the much-awaited Afro R&B track by Davido “Offa Me”, is out.
Since the inception of his music career, Davido has never hidden his liking for love songs. This is evident in many of his works as “Aye”, “Assurance”, “One Million” and “Flora My Flawa” to mention a few.
In 2017, he upped his love song game with a team-up with America’s Tinashe that resulted in global hit, “How Long” that ranked high on Billboard World Music Chart weeks after release.
To be honest, OBO ensures he dazzles us with at least two huge Afro R&B jams off every music compilation of his. This is what happened in 2019 when he was assisted by American R&B/ Pop superstar Chris Brown for “Blow My Mind” off “A Good Time” album that simultaneously houses “1 Million”.
This penchant also drove him to Nicki Minaj for great, unforgettable collaboration, “Holy Ground” off his third studio album, “A Better Time”.
While we are still basking in the euphoria of trending dance, love banger, “Awuke”, the Afrobeats giant comes through with this sparkling new love melody, “Offa Me”. It is of course off his much anticipated, just-out fifth studio album, “5ive” .
His choice of the R&B artistes to collaborate with is constantly commendable. This time around, he teams up with talented black American songwriter and singer Victoria Monet for “Offa Me”. Victoria is just perfect for the joint as she delivers so well. This very addictive sound will definitely stand the test of time.
