Before the arrival of the “new cats” we had the “old cats”. Back then, the old cats mostly performed in groups. I am sure you must have heard of names as Plantashun Boiz, Zule Zoo, Six Foot Plus, Remedies and KC Presh (KCee and Presh). And in case you never heard of or knew them, now you know. They are some of the prominent musicians who set the pillars for most of your today’s Afro Hip-Hop and Afro-Pop artistes. We must not forget them in a hurry and we should celebrate them often.

Afro-pop/ Afro-Dancehall duo, Black Tribe belong to this category of artistes who set the pillars in the Nigerian music industry. About twenty years ago, these talented artistes were on top of their game – their songs, at that time, were as huge as the songs of big names as Paul (IK Dairo)Play, OJB Jeezrel, D’Banj, Don Jazzy, Black Face, Tuface and PSquare.

During that same period the gifted two teamed up with Nigerian music icon Tuface now 2Baba, for a party jam titled “You Are the One”. It was a dance banger that buzzed on our airwaves and that which rocked our clubs, parties and streets.
