Finally, the wait is over as the much awaited single by Lil Kesh “Anini”, is out.
Nigerian Afro Hip-hop act, Lil Kesh whose real name is Ololade Keshinro, launched his professional music journey in 2014 with his record deal with top label YBNL Nation. Immediately after he joined the Olamide-owned label, he came through with an introductory single, “Shoki” – a dance song that shook our airwaves and dance floors. While this was everywhere, Kenshiro followed up with “Gbese” that turned out to be another huge success. Many hits came after those but in 2016, he was done with the “Young And Getting It” project- his debut album. This rap music compilation was critically acclaimed because it is lyrically rich, was produced by rap music production genius, Pheelz who doubled as his label’s in-house producer and co-produced by Young John and because it features great acts like Davido, Olamide and Patoranking.
At some point in the course of his career, “Keshy” as he fondly calls himself, made us realize he was not just a successful rapper but also a gifted singer. This is evident in “Agbani Darego”- a love song that buzzed steadily on radio and subsequent songs like “Kojo” demonstrates he has the ability to sing well. This was what attracted him to like-mind and Davido Music Worldwide’s talisman, Mayorkun for massive collaboration “Nkan Nbe” which is a soothing melody that eulogizes beautiful and gorgeous women.
Mr ” Me Yagi” is at what he knows how to do well again as he dishes out a brand new soulful love banger titled “Anini”.
Lil Kesh “Anini” is a metaphorical joint that likens a heartbreaker to the late Nigerian robbery gang leader notoriously known as “Anini”. Ololade, through this beautiful piece of art, expresses deep grief concerning his runaway lover.
