TxC X Davido – “Nakupenda” Ft Shoday & Zlatan

Finally, the long awaited single by TxC and Davido “Nakupenda” Ft Shoday and Zlatan, is out.

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, launched his professional music career in 2011 after relocating to Nigerian from the United States. He started his music journey with the release of singles as “Dami Duro” and “Back When” featuring Nigerian Hip-Hop pioneer, Naeto C. Since then, the Afro-pop/ Afrobeats artiste has been on a roll. There has never been a year that the talented act did not delight us with smash hits. While it is common knowledge Davido likes doing love music as evident in many of his songs as “Assurance”, “Flora My Flawa”, “If” and “1 Million”, he does not hide his great liking for upbeat and Gqom ( a typical South African music sound)- fused jams.

I remember the early days of his journey and how he came through with “Gobe”- an upbeat banger that buzzed heavily on our speakers even for years after release. Also, at some point, I recall he teamed up with South Africa ‘s Pop duo, Mafikizolo, for “Tchelete” (Good Life) that topped Africa’s music charts for weeks.

Davido Nakupenda is a reminder his burning fire for those kind of songs has not quenched. While “With You” featuring Omah Lay is massive as ever, Davido invites South Africa ‘s disc jockey and recording two, TxC, Nigeria ‘s Street Music star, Shoday and Nigerian Hip-Hop/ rap star, Zlatan, for the fresh House-themed bang, “Nakupenda”. This is not the first time “001” and Zlatan have been on the same track: In fact, they have entered the studio together more than twice and the results such as “Bum Bum” and “Hip Hop Messiah” are impressive and Davido “Nakupenda” is no exception.
