Finally, the long-awaited track by 2Baba “Drunk In Love” ft Larry Gaaga, is out.
Nigerian singer 2Baba whose real name is, Innocent Idibia, has not only been around for over twenty five years, but has also kept the fire burning. It all started with the creation of Afro Hip-Hop music group, Plantashun Boiz which also paraded Blackface and Faze. They thrilled us then with hits like “You & I”. Things however scattered like a pack of cards and they went their separate ways around 2000. Few years after the disbandment, Tuface launched his solo music career with the release of “African Queen” whose album title track was recently named “Greatest Afrobeats Single of All Time” by one of World’s biggest music awards organizers, Billboard. Instantly after release, all hell broke loose because it houses many great jams including “Ole” and “Ifene Ibawa”.
2Baba has never hidden his bias for love songs since day one. In fact, his discography is saturated with them. While the said ever green music compilation was banging everywhere, he still had them in storage and kept delighting us with them and it is a truism there is hardly any year the legendary artiste won’t delight us with one hit love song. At a time many of the artistes they started together had retired, 2Baba’s profile keeps soaring higher.
At some stage in his career, he teamed up with music executive Larry, for Street joint, “Gaga Shuffle” that shook everywhere: our airwaves, streets, parties and bars. 2Baba “Drunk In Love” is another great collaboration from the duo. They however worked with super brilliant beat maker Jaysynths who is behind the making of hits as Kcee’s “Ojapiano” and Teni’s “Wait For Me” for the brand new banger.
2Baba “Drunk In Love” is one lyrically rich, sweet Highlife themed Alternative love tune off forthcoming joint EP, “Rebirth”. This fresh jam further comfirms when it comes to love lyrics, the iconic artist is unmatched.
