[NEW MUSIC]: Candy Bleakz – “Reality” Ft Terry Apala

Finally, the much-awaited single by Candy Bleakz “Reality” ft Terry Apala, is out.

Nigerian artiste, Candy Bleakz whose real name is Akiode Blessing, is one of the lucky artists to have worked with/ to work with top Nigerian record label, Chocolate City. At a time Young Jonn left YBNL Nation and was uncertain about what the future held for his music journey, the star-studded label “adopted” him and luck smiled on him till date. It might take me a long time to compile the list of music producers, singers and song writers who have benefited from the generousity of the veteran Nigerian rapper, M.I Abaga-headed organization but I will mention a few more. Let me start from Ckay. Under the label, he evolved from an in-house music producer to an internationally known singer. Before Dice Alies “retired” from doing music, he excelled under the mentorship of MI. He had so many hit songs including “Dicey”. I remember how huge and loveable that was.

At a point in his career, Iceprince Zamani founded Super Cool Cats but before then he reigned on the music scene for many years through C.C. Nigeria ‘s Hip-hop giant, Jesse Jagz in 2010 under the watch of his brother came through with “Wetin Dey” that brought him to limelight. Even external artistes as Kenya’s Victoria Kimani sought the face of Chocolate City.

Candy Bleakz teams up with Apala Hip-Hop act for this brand new banger, “Reality” ft Terry Apala. The tenacious guest feature has, since the inception of his career, almost singlehandedly carried the burden of upholding the great value of Apala music. In an earlier post, I pondered on how far Apala music could go. Now I am convinced the Haruna Ishola and Ayinla Omowura-pioneered Nigerian music genre that has existed for more than thirthy decades now, would go farther than I thought.

Candy Bleakz’s “Reality” ft Terry Apala is one Fuji-fused Afro Hip-Hop dance banger.

Lyrical excerpt:

Who mother them
Who father them
Ajeh we morder them
Do anyhow
Ice on my neck
Ice on my wrist
Do anyhow
Forget life in the streets

I’m up to something
Something something
E bami gbese yen jo le kan kan
Head shoulders knees
And toes
Head shoulders knees
And toes

Let’s party hard
Party all night long
Kaa fa’lu ya (it’s your boy)
This is so good
