The wait is over as the much-awaited single by Shoday “Kilode”, is out
Shodade Solomon Segun who is professionally known as Shoday and who has the popular signature “Shoday Kilode”, started his music career in 2021 with the release of “Dey For You”. He, later, followed up his debut with another joint titled “Sweet Year”. These were good songs but could not earn him the recognition he actually wanted in the Nigerian music space.
Fast forward to 2025, things have really changed for better for Shoday. How do I mean? Between his music journey start year and 2024 he came through with more songs but yet couldn’t put him on the spotlight he is today. So far this year he has collaborated with some amazing artists as “Who’s Your Guy” crooner Spyro, Ayo Maff and Poco Lee for huge records. In March, Shoday’s career took a new turn with the release of hype song for Lagos socialite and popular fashion designer, Rahman Jago, “Hey Jago”. As we speak, this joint is currently buzzing everywhere: parties, airwaves, barbershops, clubs and on our streets. It is a truism it is one of the most played songs in Nigeria right now and it is there for everyone to see. While that was still everywhere, Shoday came up with “Purr”- another street banger that is as widely accepted as the former.
Well, he is out with a brand new one titled “Kilode”. This time around, the “King of Hook” as he often calls himself teams up with popular Nigerian hype man and singer, Poco Lee and female singer Nelly Baradi for the street, dance banger, “Kilode”. Nelly Baradi is the super soulful vocalist who backed up Mohbad’s “Ask About Me”. She does wonders once again with this addictive and resounding jam.
Shoday “Kilode” highlights the economic hardship and pain faced by many Nigerians at the moment.
