CARTEL finally presents the official video for new single, “Powerbank” by Tekno.
Alhaji Tekno as he often calls himself announced to us lately via his social media pages his new partnership with Mr Eazi ‘s Empawa Africa and also mentioned he was about to elate us with new singles.
Well, part of that promise is fulfilled with the release of this fresh hit, “Powerbank” by Tekno.
The gifted singer started his professional music career in 2013 with his collaboration with Davido, “Holiday” which was a success. But in 2014, Tekno joined Made Men Music Group which was then led by music executive Ubi Franklin. This was a turning point in his music journey. Under this label he gave us “Duro”. Few weeks after release, it was widely accepted by his fans and things never became the same. This was made possible because of the music chemistry between Tek and MMMG’s then in-house producer Selebobo. The latter is a well-skilled beat maker who was, at that time, making huge joints for big stars in the industry. They constantly teamed up to serve us bangers. They were many and I can’t remember them all at the moment but “Wash” and “Maria” still linger on my mind and I remember how huge they were.
In fact, between 2014 and 2018 Tekno’s tunes as “Diana”, “Pana”, “Go” and “Jogodo”, were all over the place. After the heat of all these hits cooled down, Tekno relocated to the United States and disappeared from the Nigerian music scene. For years, we were stuck and starved; and many wondered: Where is Tekno Miles?
The singer cum dancer returns from his hiatus better and bigger with this fresh sound, “Powerbank”. He has this party trick of giving us special love, dance tracks. This is another new one.

Powerbank video is more than just a music video- it is an action-packed romantic movie and it stars popular Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels who plays the lover girl who happens to be Tekno’s source of inspiration, strength and might.
